CROSSOVER CURRICULUM

One thing campers similarly possess is the love and passion for their craft. Inside each participant is a creative soul who enjoys the process of learning new information, and growing stronger as a result of it. The MX21 Crossover Curriculum is the blended MVMINT Xperience of Cheer, Step, & Dance.

MX Morning Max-Out Yogi Lab *(M, A, V, P/I, E, R, J, G)

After the daily morning meditation, campers warm up, stretch, and condition their bodies with a nontraditional camp exercise Xperience - MX Morning Max-Out Yogi Lab! It all begins with a high-impact insanity-style workout. Learning how to intentionally release endorphins as an athlete using proper conditioning, all while pushing the body to the MAX is a gamechanger! The lab then transitions into a cool down yoga journey that encompasses a spiritual connection of the mind, body, and soul. It’s truly a total-body experience! The combos and poses are all  shared online to give participants a pre-camp head-start on what to expect. And of course, this incredible workout uniquely includes variations of all three branches: Cheer-Bo, Dance Cardio, and Step Aerobics.

MX Camp Jam *(V, E)

Almost every spirit auxiliary camp offers its traditional camp dance. The MX Camp Jam is perhaps one of the most unique camp dances in the industry considering it includes a fun variation of all three branches of the company’s services: Cheer, Dance, & Step. Choreographed as a beginner/intermediate level sequence of combinations, the MX Camp Jam is taught to the entire camp with an intentional focus on honing and sharing a fun vibe! No longer is it permissible to waste valuable time teaching a camp dance that can never be used for a real performance. The MX Camp Jam is not only fun to learn, it’s worth performing at any school/community event!

MX Safety Matters Session: 3-D *(A)

At MVMINT Xperience – Safety Matters! Many companies only address safety in matters of building, tricks, and lifts. MX embraces individual safety as well as group safety. Learning how to safely stretch, land jumps, and condition the body are equally as important as the safety techniques for spotting group lifts and stunts. MX Safety Matters Session: 3-D (Drills, Do’s, & Don’ts) covers a full range of tips to protect each camper’s greatest instrument – his/her body! This quick course also emphasizes the importance of skill progression and proper technique using hands-on training for the entire team. Individuals and teams learn the most current industry techniques to ensure safe practice and performance all year long.

MX Team Evaluations & Award Ribbons *(E, J, G)

In keeping with the traditional structure of summer encampment, each team receives a performance evaluation review of material from home as well as material learned while at camp. The camp experience is primarily geared towards learning and team bonding; however, the industry has gravitated towards developing more diverse curriculums to best meet the needs of all types of squads, including more competitive teams. Team evaluations are designed to be challenging for squads to identify their performance strengths and weaknesses. In our truest Olympic-fashion, the MX Team Evaluations & Award Ribbons match the spirit of the Olympic Games by awarding teams with one of three different performance ribbons. The MX Curriculum is devoted to positive-minded instruction and building the confidence of its participants; thus, all evaluation awards titles are rooted in a spirit of intentional positivity! Additional certificates and trophies are also awarded for outstanding performances and accolades including Top Team, Most Improved, Most Spirited, etc.…Below is the MX Ribbon Award System:

MX Team Bonding Sessions *(M, A, V, P/I, R, J, G)

Squads may come to camp as individuals but the MX vision is that they leave as a more bonded team. A true bond is oftentimes established through effective communication and tested challenges. Too often companies employ only the positive aspects of the bonding experience, when in actuality, a real bond requires the test of difficult moments as well. MX Team Bonding Sessions mirror this duality through interactive exercises designed to encourage athletes to embrace each other deeper than the surface level of being teammates. Teams explore what it truly means to have compassion, empathy, and love for one another. It is important for campers to learn the value of working together towards a common goal. MX Team Bonding Sessions are considerably impactful in the full development of each individual.

MX All-Star Tryouts *(P/I, E)

Perhaps one of the most coveted individual honors earned at camp is the MX All-Star Award. MX All-Star Tryouts are typically held on the final day of camp. Tryouts feature participants who were nominated by the MX Staff in one of the following categories: Leadership, Technique, Performance, or Spirit. Nominees who are selected as MX All-Star Team Members will receive the coveted MX All-Star Package which includes a custom patch, medallion, and an invitation to perform in the halftime performance of the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Florida.

MX ThasMyBuddy Coaching Labs *(A, V, E, G)

There’s no love quite like the love of a MX Buddy! MX ThasMyBuddy Coaching Labs offer the critical one-on-one time set aside each day for teams to work intimately with their camp buddy instructor. Teams are given clues throughout the pre-camp experience to guess which MX Staff Instructor will be revealed as their camp buddy for the entire camp. Once the connection is made, each MX Buddy makes an intentional effort to learn exactly what the team wishes to accomplish from the perspective of the coach, captains, and the entire team. Remember, it’s all about intention! Each MX Buddy is prepared to help his/her team with whatever the team needs most, whether it’s team planning, evaluation material, competition performances, or material from home.

MX Spirit Stroll’N Class *(A, V, E)

The art of strolling is somewhat exclusively expressive for our culture! It’s entertaining and quite memorable to witness the bonded love of cheerleaders, dancers, and steppers who stroll into a stadium or inside a performance arena! The MX Spirit Stroll’N Class is perhaps one of the newest and most innovative offerings at camp to help squads create their first impression or victory exit with style. Campers learn the basic tenants of line-strolling as well as explore creative variations to strengthen their team’s choreographic process. The class includes two (2) strolls with repeating sequences, both of which are appropriate for medium/up-tempo speeds.

MX Meet The Staff *(G)

Beyond every company’s traditional practice of introducing the staff, each MX Camp creates a completely different experience for campers by incorporating an open forum for all campers to intimately introduce themselves to each instructor. During MX Meet The Staff, campers can shake hands, hug, take selfies, ask questions, and get to know each and every person on staff more personally as opposed to just his/her buddy instructor. No other company creates this type of unique experience! MX Meet The Staff is a perfect opportunity to network and connect with individuals who may have college experience, team experience, or fraternity/sorority experience that mirrors a camper’s aspirations.
